There are many things that you should be doing as a business owner.  One of the most important is marketing.  This is often one of the first things to go by the wayside when you get busy and your business starts growing.  However, 5-10% of your revenue should be earmarked for marketing.

There are several reasons for this:

Your marketing campaign is your face to the world.  This is the message that you want to convey to your current and potential customers.  Advertising keeps your brand and products fresh and in front of your audience.  Plus, marketing creates awareness.  You have a new product, get it out there through marketing efforts.

Marketing is currently on the of the cost-effective strategies in business.  E-mail and social media marketing are free. The only cost associated is if you choose to hire a digital marketing firm to manage your accounts.  Take advantage of these highly effect, yet free marketing tools.  Your return on investment can be great.

Many things in business are out of our control.  Marketing is the one thing that you can control.  You control what goes out to the public, the frequency, down to the time when your message is posted.  Why not spend more of your resources on the one thing that you can control – how your company is perceived and the message it sends?

Busy?  Focus on your target market.  Digital marketing has become a science.  Businesses can now just market to their target audience. Learn these tricks of the trade and implement them in your strategy.

And finally, Shout It from the Roof Tops.  Whatever you are doing publicized it! Your audience wants to know what is new – so tell them!  In all formats - use email, social media outlets and smoke signal if needed.

Why market?  Why not!
